£679 obtained me an Xbox Series X, 1TB expansion card, and three months of Game Pass. It quickly took me straight through to Currys’ website where an Xbox Series X bundle was waiting for me. I turned round in bed this morning, just in time to notice a Discord notification. Shame on Sony for treating customers like this and trying to milk them and the game so blatantly. I’m sorry, but anyone that buys this needs to have a word with themselves because this might just be the worst deal of the last and current generation put together.
UNCHARTED XBOX UPGRADE
If it was being released for £15 or so I’d let it slide, but £45?! Are Sony insane? And then they do the absolute worst thing of taking the originals off the PlayStation Store, while charging you £10 for an upgrade – if you’re even eligible. We all want Uncharted delayed if it means a better game, but Microsoft would be wise to capitalize on Sony’s misfortune if they can.įollow me on Twitter, like my page on Facebook, and pick up a copy of my sci-fi novel, The Last Exodus, and its sequel, The Exiled Earthborn, along with my new Forbes book, Fanboy Wars. Not only does it have no extra content it has less content than the originals! And despite being a PlayStation 4 game, which should be easier to run on a PlayStation 5, it still has to have three graphic modes to get in all the options. Though if they drop the ball and release any broken games, it could backfire horribly. If Microsoft can beat them to the punch this fall with a pair of quality exclusives, that could shift some momentum their way. But this could be a big fall for Microsoft, a way to finally grip the masses by their shoulders and shake them while yelling “Why do you want a PS4? They have no exclusive games!” and then herding them over to Halo and Tomb Raider.īoth companies have struggled with putting out an effective line-up of exclusives to date, but now, Sony has put themselves in a position where it’s going to be two and a half years before their biggest exclusive title is released. There’s plenty for other delays, and Microsoft’s own games could be among them.
UNCHARTED XBOX PLUS
Uncharted 4 knew there was no chance it would hit a 2015 release target, so we’re hearing about it nine plus months early. If that was the case, and Microsoft didn’t delay either Tomb Raider or Halo 5, they could run the field on both Sony and even Nintendo in terms of holiday exclusives.īut right now, it’s too early to say. Nintendo, for example, is promising the new Legend of Zelda game by the end of the year, but that seems like a daunting, if not impossible prospect. This year, we’ll likely see games like the new Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed hit their fall targets, but who knows what else will be delayed. Right now we’re in “fall plus” season, where all the highest profile games of the winter/spring were once meant to come out in the fall, from The Order to Evolve to The Witcher. Uncharted won’t be the last game delayed from fall to spring, as many make that leap throughout the course of the year.

Though Uncharted has shown off gameplay footage, it does seem to be less far along, and we've seen little else from it. Halo 5 had a pretty extensive beta test more than nine months before the planned release of the game this fall, and had few technical issues. Despite Halo: MCC’s woes, there have been no huge staff shakeups at 343 like we’ve seen at Naughty Dog.

With that said, Uncharted and Halo 5 appear to be in different places, with Halo 5 further along in development. I think they would be wasting a big opportunity if they did that, but then again, no matter what, we cannot see 343 repeat the launch disaster of Halo: MCC in any capacity. What I’m wondering now is if Microsoft will stick to their stated release plans for Halo 5, or if they’ll use this opportunity to also delay the game, given that pressure’s off from Sony.
UNCHARTED XBOX PS4
That means PS4 will once again not have a big name exclusive for the holiday season. And then there’s Uncharted 4, or rather there was Uncharted 4, until it was wiped from the 2015 calendar. The second is Bloodborne, out this month and a title that is hopefully too big to fail given its Demon’s/Dark Souls pedigree. The first was The Order: 1886, which is at least a critical flop, if not a commercial one, but it may be too early to tell. Sony has three major games coming out this year, or at least three games that people expect to be their biggest exclusives of 2015. Microsoft and the Xbox One as well, who now have a rare opportunity to dominate the holiday season with a pair of hugely anticipated exclusives, Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider, both slated for Holiday 2015 releases.

While I agree that it’s best for everyone if Uncharted 4 takes its time in order not to taint the series with an underwhelming installment, this is a pretty big deal for Sony.
